Year One have really enjoyed learning about the Jewish period of weekly rest called Shabbat. They sampled some Challah bread and drank grape juice whilst they listened to a Hebrew blessing. This enabled them to get a sense of the occasion and how this period of rest and resetting is so special to Jewish families.
Then the children also created their own fact sheets about some of the sacred artefacts one might find in a Jewish home during Shabbat.
