Dear parents/carers,
We hope you have enjoyed the half term break with your children and that they are excited about returning to school this term.
Following a maths training day we have decided to focus on developing wide ranging skills using times tables. In year 2, the requirement is to know the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables and recall facts without hesitation. For this reason we would ask that you help your child by practicing these times tables and division facts. For example: 3 x 5 = 15, 5 x 3 = 15, 15 ÷3 = 5, 15 ÷5 = 3. We will be testing children on using the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables only. However, you are more than welcome to practice other times tables as well but these won’t be tested in class as they were previously.
Please also note that group 2 will be swimming this term.
