On outdoor learning day we had a super time in the Planet Pirate area, soaking up the atmosphere and thinking up imaginative stories that we could use to create our own fairy tales. There was a lonely leaf monster who didn't have any friends, a gaggle of mermaids in a lake, a pot-bellied goblin chasing rabbits, the tooth fairy, a poisonous apple, a wood house monster, an ogre house, Snow White, a magical hole that sent you to a dazzling castle, twenty golden foxes and a pixie house. All in one area at the bottom of the paddock. We also went out in the afternoon to use some special pencils and have a go at drawing and shading trees, asking someone their age in French and thinking about different kinds of relationships. It was an amazing day and the children, and I, thoroughly enjoyed it.
