We added another WOW moment to our topic this term by inviting the local fire crew to show the children their fire engine. We looked round the fire engine and Fireman John told us all about the equipment they use. We even had a chance to try on the mask they use and look at the thermal imaging camera which helps them to find people or animals who are in a fire. They even have special oxygen masks for pet dogs and cats. But the best thing of all was when the children were allowed to hold the hose and spray it into the trees.
