Special Educational Needs

Mrs Renard - SENCO
We cherish the dignity of each precious person: thankfulness, friendship, forgiveness and hope are at the heart of our inclusive community.
At Christ Church, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of every pupil within a safe, nurturing and supportive environment. Rooted in our Christian ethos, we encourage every member of our community to strive to be the very best version of themselves. Our core values of friendship, thankfulness, forgiveness and hope underpin all that we do, shaping a culture where every child feels valued, respected and able to flourish.
We place great importance on ongoing staff training and development, ensuring that all members of our team are well-equipped to support children effectively. We aim to identify pupils who may require additional support as early as possible, so that timely and appropriate interventions can be put in place to help them thrive.
We value strong partnerships with parents and carers, and we are committed to keeping you fully informed throughout the SEND process. We recognise that every child is unique, and that even children with similar needs may require very different approaches. By working closely with families—listening carefully and building a shared understanding—we are able to support each child in a way that reflects their individual strengths and needs.
As a fully inclusive school, we work collaboratively with the Local Authority, health professionals and community organisations to ensure that every pupil receives the most appropriate and effective support. Guided by our Christian values, we approach this work with compassion, respect and a deep commitment to each child’s wellbeing and development.
Our staff are passionate about providing the very best education for all children, regardless of how they learn. We have experience in supporting a wide range of needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD and SEMH. Where needed, we also access additional specialist training and support to meet less common needs. A broad range of interventions is available within school to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed and feel hopeful about their future.
