Admission Arrangements 2028/29 Consultation
Christ Church CEP Academy is a Single Academy Trust. As our own admissions authority, we are required under the School Admissions Code 2021 to review our admissions policy annually and to consult on our arrangements from time to time. The code requires consultation in the following circumstances:
- When changes are proposed to admission arrangements, all admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements (including supplementary information form) that will apply for admission applications the following school year.
- Where the admission arrangements have not changed from the previous year there is no requirement to consult, subject to the requirement that admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period.
It has been at least 7 years since our arrangements were last consulted upon. In line with our duties to consult please find attached our admissions arrangements for the academic year 2028/29. There are no proposed changes to these arrangements.
The Governing Board will meet soon after the closure of the admissions consultation to consider any comments. If no comments are received the arrangements will be considered for determination at the next full Governing Board meeting.
This consultation opens on 7th October 2026 and closes on 18th November 2026

Admissions Arrangements
As an academy, Christ Church manages its own admissions but does so in line with the Kent Common Application System.
Extracts of the KCC guidance are outlined below.
- When your child is three or four years old, you will need to start thinking about which primary school you would like your child to go to
- By law, children have to start school by the beginning of the school term after their fifth birthday (this is when they reach compulsory school age). However, you may want your child to start earlier than that. All Kent schools will take children from four years old.
- A school year runs from September in one calendar year to August in the next, so children who will reach compulsory school age during the school year 2026/27 are those born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.
