Over the last week Year 2 have been undertaking various activities linked to measuring and recognising properties of shape.
You could develop these skills at home with your child by:
Asking them to measure liquids in a jug (ml) in recipes
Filling containers in the bath and saying if they are full, nearly full, half full, empty etc...
Measuring ingredients for cooking in grams or their own weight in kilograms
Can they measure objects around the house in cm or the length of their feet, hands, fingers etc...
Search for 2D and 3D shapes at home and in the streets when walking to school e.g. a circle within a clock face
