World Faith Day - Islam

28th Mar 2022

The children across the school have taken part in our 2nd world faith day on Islam. The children have been learning through stories and P4C enquiries, the importance of Ramadan for people of Muslim faith. Our Year 5's had the opportunity to visit our local Mosque and to learn more about the Islamic faith whilst there. The children had fun creating different art work surrounding the Islamic faith, which included patterns, stars and moons. They also enjoyed looking at pictures of beautiful Mosque's from around the world. It was a day of reflection and calmness for everyone.

I think Arthur in 1K expressed beautifully, his wonder and spirituality, whilst looking at the pictures of the Mosque. He explained to his class ' there is no furniture because you don't need furniture to pray, you can pray on your hands and knees. God is there, if you have faith'.

I think we can all learn from Arthur whether we are of any particular faith or none, to take the time to look and appreciate the beautiful world surrounding us, as we move into the joy and colour of Spring.

Thank you to all the children today who expressed their thoughts, respect, deep appreciation and wonder of all that they have learned throughout the day.

I have added a few of the photos of the Mosque's, so that you can also share in their beauty.
