The children had a great time learning all interesting facts about The Houses of Parliament.

I wonder who can remember the first facts that we were told - try and fill in the gaps.

The children were amazing with their questions for Mr Damien Collins the MP for Folkestone and Hythe.

Here are some of their questions and answers.

What do you do for the better in your area?

Helped get funding to support The Triennial and The Harbour Arm, and the new shops around the creative quarter in Folkestone, the high speed train has made a huge difference to the town.  I am continuing to campaign for more trains. To support local organisations to make a difference.

How are you improving the opportunities for our school?

We have changed and opened up more options for secondary schools and colleges. Having good school choice and options for our future.

What is the most important law?

The most import role of the government is to ensure people feel safe. People have a right  to protect the things that they own and a right to feel that they are their families are safe.

Do you have a boss or manger?

Boris Johnson could be but really it is all of you who are my bosses because you the people have voted for me.

What would you like to change now?

Safety of the internet on social media e.g Facebook, Instgram etc.. The laws need to keep up to keep continuous changes that happen on social media and we need to keep everyone safe.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I love meeting people and getting to know their problems and helping them.

Is it hard working for parliament?

It is a 7 days a week job, as you never know what might happen at any time.

What did you do before you became an MP?

I worked in a business which made averts for tv and newspapers but I wanted to change things for the better for people and so I decided to become an MP.

If you could change something in the world what would it be?

To stop wars and the consequences of this on the people who live in those countries would be a priority.

Another one would be working together to save resources and make environmental changes. Dealing with climate change for the future generations of our world.

I would like to see a rapid increase in renewal energy, with no more burning of fossil fuels and clean energy being used in our home, more electric cars on the road, and no more wasting energy.
