The John Muir Award

7th Dec 2017

4LL has now been to the Warren twice, both exciting days.

One for the view of the seal who was looking for his lunch in the high tide whilst we ate own lunches, the second for the mud we wallowed through (and brought home on our shoes).

During these trips we have also competed activities to encourage the children to understand about nature and the outdoor environment.

As the year goes on we will develop these activities to add to the children's knowledge and understanding and  the children will work towards the four challenges of the John Muir Award.  Read more about it here. https://www.johnmuirtrust.org/john-muir-award.

The experiences the children have enjoyed during the trips have gone far beyond the normal curriculum taught within school.

Even the resilience shown during the not inconsiderable walk has shown the strength of character of the children.  The teamwork and kindness shown to those less confident in climbing the steps has been remarkable.  I know that Miss Tapley, Mr Goldsmith and I are looking forward the further trips.
